Welcome

Do you ever have that tingling sensation when you’re about to set off on a journey to parts unknown? You know, that combination of excitement and trepidation – eager to explore and yet a little nervous about what you might come across round the next corner?

That’s something of how we at trustorganicfood.com feel as we take our first steps down the organic trail. It’s definitely a journey worth taking; indeed, it is imperative. But there is also a little apprehension about the challenges we will undoubtedly encounter along the way.

There are so many questions. What is organic anyway? Why buy organic foods? Who are the people behind the organic labels you find on your supermarket shelves? Can you trust those labels? Who are the producers? Do they get a fair price for their labour? Are you looking after your local growers?

So many thoughts and ideas have been tossed around and debated as our editorial team put together the concept for TrustOrganicFood.com. And then we realised that, yes, there are myriad questions, but that is the whole point.

There is clearly a hunger for knowledge about all things organic out there in communities from Spokane, Washington to Perth, Australia (where I sit typing this missive) to Manchester, England. You want to know more; that’s why you’ve found us.

Our challenge, and one we take very seriously, is to help you find the answers. We want consumers such as yourself to come to regard us as a guide on a truly amazing journey into the organic world.

We’ll talk to those in the know, whether it be experts in the field of soil nutrition, a local strawberry farmer or a pioneer in the organic movement, and get them to tell us their stories, share their experiences and inspire us onwards and upwards. We want to explore the world of real food, food that nourishes, food that is produced in a way that does not harm your health or the environment.

Now we hope you’re getting that tingling sensation, too – and that you stick around for the ride.
